1) Read the Questions 1st & carefully; ask yourself “What was the test writer’s purpose for asking me this question?”
2) Use your POWER WORDS to decompose or break down the question.
3) Stick to what you know-this is not the time to experiment or try something new.
4) Jail the Detail: Underline, box or circle important words, information, or data
5) Show your thinking-work out math problems
6) Plug it in-Plug it in: Plug in the #’s you think will make the equation true.
7) Slash the Trash: Look at the multiple choice Which ones are true/false (X out false choices)
Narrow it down to two-then pick the BEST
8) Double Bubbles: double check that you have bubbled in the answer your intended and your bubbles are beautiful.
