Celebs Celebrate Thanksgiving

The celebrities had a fun-filled month of November. They learned how to write persuasive paragraphs and change the traditional turkey feast to that containing deer meat, pizza and even bacon! You can check out our turkey writings below. Also, the Cast and Crew enjoyed lending their expertise to Mrs. Groves's first grade class. The first graders were putting on their first production, Twas the Night before Thanksgiving. The Harkreader Hills cast and crew assisted in creating the props and even had rolls in the production. To celebrate the success of the play, the celebs created Turkey Treats for the 1st graders. You can find the recipe and paparazzi pics below. The celebs also enjoyed other fun, turkey activities by playing roll a turkey and creating scrapbook turkeys at the Turkey Store. They only had $ 5.00 to spend and had to do some planning and calculations prior to adding their creative touch. Check out these adorable turkeys in the paparazzi pics below.

Celebs present their 4-H Speeches!

The celebrities have all worked hard to write a great 4-H speech. They began by brainstorming topics they knew a lot about. Next, they began their 1st draft. The celebs had to make sure they had an introduction that stated their 3 main points and had a catchy way of engaging their audience. They developed their speech further by expanding on their 3 main points and adding connections to 4-H. Finally, they added their conclusion by restating their 3 main points. The celebs spent time getting familiar with the speeches by practicing on stage and with their family. Check out these great 4-H speeches below!

Celebs discover Fossils!

During our study of endangered and extinct animals, we always make room for some tasty edible fossils! The celebrities begin by using their excavation skills and dig for fossils via a chips ahoy cookie. Next, the celebs helped create sedimentary fossils. We used rice crispies as our bits of stone, candy corn as animal teeth, stick pretzels as bones, and mini chocolate chips as animal poop. Amber fossils were the next exploration for the celebs. By using jello, gummy bugs, and plastic eggs, the celebs created edible amber. The final fossil food were cast cookie fossils. We used sugar cookies as our base and used spiders to make our fossil imprints. After baking the fossils, the celebs enjoyed the yummy fossil treats.
